Paramedic coordinator and instructor receives Iowa EMS Association Instructor of the Year award

Northeast Iowa Community College recently issued the following announcement.

Sandy Neyen, Northeast Iowa Community College paramedic clinical coordinator, received the Iowa EMS Association Instructor of the Year award.

The association presented the honor at the 31st Annual IEMSA Conference and Trade Show from Nov. 11-13 at the Iowa Event Center/CCCU Veterans Memorial in Des Moines. 

Neyen has served as the College’s paramedic clinical coordinator and instructor since 2013. In 1996, she began teaching non-credit continuing education EMS classes for NICC.

Each year the Iowa EMS Association also honors the Dispatcher of the Year, Friend of EMS, Volunteer Individual, EMS Provider, Career Individual EMS Provider, Volunteer EMS Service, Career Service, Hall of Fame, Legislator of the Year and EMS Physician of the Year.
