Clarke University Athletics issued the following announcement on August 05.
The United Soccer Coaches announced their Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipients this week as the Clarke University women's soccer team earned the Silver Award for the 2020-21 season.
In all, 34 men's and women's teams received either the Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season based on the number of cards accumulated divided by the number of games played.
The Pride earned the Silver Award designation as they were one of 10 teams to fall between 11-30 percent of cards accumulated during the season. With the Silver Award, Clarke is the lone representative from the Heart of America Conference at any level and the only NAIA programs with a higher rating than CU is Freed-Hardeman University and Carroll College who both received Gold Awards.
