On Friday, Feb. 14, former Hempstead High School standout Gracelyn Kemp’s current college team, the Illinois State Redbirds, lost 6-5 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

The game took place at Nancy Almaraz Field. This was their first matchup against the Hoosiers this season.

The Redbirds’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. at Nancy Almaraz Field against North Dakota State Bison.
