On Tuesday, April 8, former Hempstead High School standout Gracelyn Kemp’s current college team, the Illinois State Redbirds, won 2-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The game took place at Bob Pearl Field. This was their first matchup against the Hawkeyes this season.

The Redbirds’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 11 at 3:05 p.m. at Valpo Softball Complex against Valparaiso Beacons.
