On Friday, Feb. 7, former Hempstead High School standout Gracelyn Kemp’s current college team, the Illinois State Redbirds, lost 2-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Georgia Southern Eagles.

The game took place at USF Softball Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Eagles this season.

The Redbirds’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. at USF Softball Stadium against Florida Gators.
