The City of Dubuque is providing free parking at downtown meters, ramps, and lots from Thursday, Nov. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 27.
Parking meter, lot, and ramp violations will not be enforced this weekend to encourage the public to shop local at downtown businesses. Friday, Nov. 25, is Black Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26, is Small Business Saturday – two major days of sales for local businesses.
“The holidays are all about giving, and the best gift you can give local businesses is your support,” said City of Dubuque Director of Transportation Services Ryan Knuckey. “We’re hoping that free parking gives people an extra incentive to shop local and stop into our downtown businesses this weekend.”
The City is currently seeking resident input to help guide the development of Move DBQ, a new smart parking and mobility plan. Input will be used to improve parking access, efficiency, and overall user experience. Residents taking advantage of free parking this weekend, or who make trips to the downtown, are encouraged to complete the survey at www.cityofdubuque.org/movedbq.
