The Loras College Wind Ensemble and the Loras College Choirs will perform their first concerts of the year this fall.
The wind ensemble will host “A Night at the Opera” on Saturday, October 29 at 7p.m. in St. Joseph Chapel in Hoffman Hall. The music for the evening is taken from the great operas and will include 2 wonderful Mozart Overtures, music from the Opera “Carmen,” and others. Guest soloists Levi Block, Horn, Ms. Erica Timmerman, Mezzo Soprano, and Mr. David Lang, Euphonium are all part of this fantastic assortment of opera music. If you think you don’t like opera, think again. All of the music you will hear you have most likely heard before in movies and on television.
The choirs, under the direction of Michael Bagby, assistant professor of music, will host their fall concert at Christ the King Chapel on November 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Both events are free and open to the public.
