The grand opening festivities will take place from Friday April 22nd through Sunday April 24th, 2022. Throughout the weekend, we will have live music, caricature drawings, bounce house, giveaways, specials, activities, and special gifts for the first 300 kids through the doors on Saturday April 23rd. There will also be a guest appearance from our very own Ace Hardware All-Star, Nile Kron (along with his family). Nile is currently being treated at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and donations during the grand opening will directly benefit the local hospital.

The newest Steve’s Ace Home & Garden store, located at 456 Peosta St. in Peosta (at the corner of Burds Rd. and Peosta Street/Sundown Rd.), will be a curated combination of the two current Steve’s Ace locations in Dubuque. It will feature a full hardware store aimed to serve both the homeowners and the businesses in the area, a greenhouse & gift department showcasing the best sellers of Sprout and the Flower Shoppe, plus outdoor lifestyle offering.
Peosta Store Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the third Steve’s Ace store owned by the Selchert family. All three stores are now owned by Sara (Selchert) & Jason Carpenter of Dubuque. The store has been designed to reflect the needs of the Peosta community and to be, as owner Sara describes it, “so much more than a hardware store.”
Steve’s Ace Home & Garden Peosta not only includes hardware, but other key products like paint, electrical, plumbing, automotive, lawn and garden, home décor, a curated collection of floral & unique gifts with house plants, annuals, perennials, and shrubs, as well as a baby boutique- yes, in a hardware store! With nearly 16,000 square feet, the store includes some of the best brands in the area which include: Ego, Traeger, Benjamin Moore, Yeti, Fat Brain Toys, Copper Pearl, plus so much more!
"As our community continues to grow, we have realized a need to better serve the folks living and working West of Dubuque," explains owner, Sara Carpenter. That love of community is a feeling shared by Sara’s husband and co-owner Jason.
