Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The Dubuque Racing Association Ltd. (DRA), a 501 (c) (4) organization, recently presented the City of Dubuque with $4,005,880 as a part of their annual distribution.
“We are grateful for DRA’s ongoing support of the city, as well as the generous investments they continue to make in other organizations in and around Dubuque,” said Brad Cavanagh, Dubuque’s Mayor.
“Since its inception, DRA has been committed to helping support and grow the community in a variety of ways, so this large contribution is a great example of the commitment they continue to show toward the community.”
This record-setting amount was based on 2021 revenues for the organization and represents the important collaboration between the Diamond Jo and Q Casino to help provide much-needed funds to both the city, and non-profit entities in the area on an annual basis per their licensing agreement.
“Giving back to the community is important to us and something we take great pride in,” said Alex Dixon, President and CEO of Q Casino and DRA. “This record-setting distribution by the DRA is just another example of the successful partnership we have with Diamond Jo Casino and Boyd Gaming to help better our community by providing much-need funds for important initiatives.”
Wendy Runde, the General Manager of Diamond Jo Casino, echoed Dixon’s sentiment.
“Diamond Jo and Boyd Gaming strongly believe in giving back to others and doing our part to make our communities great places to live and work,” Runde said.
“We are proud to work with our friends at Q Casino in sharing our success with this community through the DRA. Working together, we continue to ensure that the entire Dubuque community realizes the benefits of our City’s gaming and hospitality industry.”
