Special Election Set for Ward Four City Council Vacancy

City of Dubuque recently issued the following announcement.

The Dubuque City Council voted at its Jan. 3 meeting to fill the Ward Four city council representative vacancy by special election on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Only residents who live in Ward Four can file and vote in this election. Residents can view a map of Ward Four on the City’s website. Dubuque residents can also enter their address and learn which ward they live in through an interactive map.

 

Candidates wishing to file for this position must fill out an affidavit of candidacy and nomination papers. Candidates will also need to collect 28 signatures from Ward Four residents. All paperwork must be filed with the Dubuque County Auditor by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4. Paperwork and additional information can be downloaded from the Dubuque County Elections webpage.

 

 If more than three or more candidates file, a primary election will be held on Tuesday, March 1.  

 

Ward Four residents who wish to request mailed absentee ballots for this election may begin requesting them on Tuesday, Jan. 18, by contacting the Dubuque County Elections Office at www.dubuquecounty.org/elections or 563-589-4457.
