Northeast Iowa Community College recently issued the following announcement.
Halfhill brings real-world perspective based on her 25-year Air Force career as a retired United State Air Force Colonel.
Dare to Lead certified facilitator, DeDe Halfhill, will be the keynote speaker at Northeast Iowa Community College’s Business Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 8-10 a.m. at the Town Clock Business Center in Dubuque.
Building meaningful connections with others, developing our communication skills and implementing new strategies help leaders resolve challenges and lead more effectively. These are just a few key points shared at the Business Summit, “Leaders Connect: A Real Conversation about Why We Struggle and What Gets in Our Way.”
Halfhill brings real-world perspective based on her 25-year Air Force career as a retired United State Air Force Colonel. She has served as an advisor to the nation’s highest-ranking leaders, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense. Deployed twice to the Iraq war, Halfhill has first-hand experience as a leader and advisor under the most difficult circumstances.
Her presentation will stimulate thought-provoking conversations about inspiring teams, provide new insights on leadership development, demonstrate how to connect with purpose and engage with employees, and share tools and best practices to innovate leadership strategies.
“The Business Summit gives you access to experiences and perspectives of hundreds of business professionals facing the same challenges, while giving you the tools, strategies and best practices to change the way you think as a leader and the strategies you use in your work. We are thrilled to bring DeDe back to Dubuque!” said Bailey Kloft, NICC Career Development and Business Partnership Lead.
A four-member leadership panel will also discuss local challenges. Panelists include Jordan Fullan, vice president of human resources for HODGE; Joe Hearn, president and CEO of Dupaco Community Credit Union; Kay Takes, president of the eastern Iowa region for MercyOne; and Liang Chee Wee, president of Northeast Iowa Community College.
Event sponsors are Radio Dubuque, CIRAS, HODGE, TH Media and Greater Dubuque Development Corporation.
