Regional Medical Center issued the following announcement on November 3.
Effective immediately, under an Emergency Use Authorization, the CDC recommends a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11.
This 2-dose, primary vaccine series is recommended for all children aged 5-11, regardless of a history of symptomatic or asymptomatic COVID-19 infection. It is important to note that individuals can receive other vaccines on the same day they receive the COVID-19 vaccine. For example, these patients can receive their flu vaccine any time before, after, or at the same time as the Pfizer COVID vaccine if both are readily available. The COVID-19 vaccine dosage is different for this age group than other age groups. At this time, a booster dose is NOT recommended for ages 5-11.
Delaware County Public Health will provide more information on upcoming vaccine clinics for Pediatric children (ages 5-11) as soon as our Pediatric Pfizer vaccine shipment information is available.

- Pain, swelling, and/or redness at the injection site
