City of Dubuque recently issued the following announcement on August 23.
Mayor Roy D. Buol will join local leaders across the country in a nationwide, bipartisan initiative to highlight the impact of volunteerism and national service in tackling local problems.
Mayor Buol is joining the Dubuque National Service Partnership in accepting nominations for the following awards: Champion of Service Award, National Service Impact Award, Volunteer Service Impact Award, and Equity Impact Award. Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 10 at https://tinyurl.com/DNSPNomination.
The Dubuque National Service Partnership will honor local nominees and present awards to the recipients at the National Service Recognition Day event on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Multicultural Family Center (1157 Central Ave., Dubuque, IA 52001). The public is invited to the event to celebrate the recipients of the awards.
- The Champion of Service Award recognizes individuals or agencies that have demonstrated ongoing and sustained involvement and/or advocacy with National Service Programs.
- The National Service Impact Award recognizes individuals who are alumni or current National Service members whose service made a significant impact on the site for which they have served.
- The Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals who serve as volunteers whose service have made a significant impact on the organization(s) for which they serve/served.
- The Equity Impact Award recognizes individuals from marginalized communities whose volunteer service have made a significant impact on the community and/or organizations for which they serve/served.
