Market

Maquoketa Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Name: Maquoketa Farmers Market - 2021

Date: August 17, 2021

Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CDT

Event Description:

The 2021 Maquoketa Farmers Market is held on Tuesday evenings May 18th through October 12th at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center Parking Lot in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Due to Covid-19 and the Governor's rules, the Market atmosphere that we love, will have to change for the time being. Instead---for the 2021 season--we are going to have an outside Grocery Store with the following conditions.....

-6 feet social distancing must be maintained by all.

-Everyone must wear a face mask.

-Only food, farm products, and homemade face masks can be sold.

-Customers are encouraged to shop with exact change.

-Customers are not allowed to touch the products. Point out what you would like to purchase and the Vendor will place it in a bag for you to pick up. (Yes, Vendors will be wearing gloves.)

-There will be no eating or drinking. Sorry, no food samples this year.

-Yes--there will be a food booth-- with carryout!!! The Non-Profit Groups will be selling meats that are grilled on site, prepackaged sides, and drinks. Sorry, nothing homemade.

-Yes--The RTA bus will run the same as last year.

-Yes-- The Community Cupboard Voucher program will run the same as last year except the vouchers are now $10.

-Unfortunately, there will not be Music or a Kid's Zone.
