Cost of college went up for all students at Clarke University

Tuition and fees rose 4.4 percent for 2018-19 at Clarke University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Iowa students paid $33,350 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,400 more than the $31,950 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 162 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.2 million and 170 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,004), 738 students used grants or scholarships totaling $14 million, and 626 students took out $6.2 million in federal student loans.
