Dubuque County is closer to having a COVID-19 testing site, but it needs a medical facility to help, the Telegraph Herald reported.
The early sites in Iowa were in tents set up quickly in parking lots, the story stated. Since then, sites have been placed inside local health clinics, which is the type the state envisions for Dubuque County.
“They are proposing that we facilitate a clinic-based setup, working with a health care facility,” Dubuque County Public Health Director Patrice Lambert said. “They do not want us to look at a drive-thru situation.”
The county “continues to pursue the possibility of bringing a Test Iowa site to Dubuque County,” the county said on its website.
There are currently 10 sites in Iowa, the closest to Dubuque being Cedar Rapids and Davenport.
The test collection kits and processing would be free for Dubuque County and medical facility, the story stated.
