Flexsteel Industries, a Dubuque based furniture manufacturing company is considering going global with its endeavors, according to KRCG News.
“The company might move production of its’ Blue steel springs to Mexico and Asia," Flexsteel Industries CEO Jerry Dittmer told the Telegraph Herald. “The change is not a done deal but Flexsteel has shared the plans with Union Representatives.”
According to Dittmer, the blue steel spring production is actually the core of the company and expanding its manufacture from a single facility to a global scale has the potential to be quite profitable.
“Making the blue steel springs in new locations will help get the products to customers faster,” Dittmer said.
Flexsteel Industries is making its way into global business but Dittmer is being cautious about the most profitable and risk-free options that will help the company rather than hinder it.
