Medline Industries, Inc. recently issued the following announcement.
Medline CEO Charlie Mills and Medline President Andy Mills were named to Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare – 2021” list, honoring “the most influential individuals in the industry, in terms of leadership and impact.”
Charlie and Andy Mills share the 48th spot on the list, which this year includes leaders of prominent healthcare systems, along with: President Joe Biden, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, and American Medical Association President Dr. Susan Bailey. The list was compiled based on the input of Modern Healthcare senior editors, and the results of a reader survey.
According to Modern Healthcare, the list reflects an unprecedented year: “Already rocked by a global pandemic, the healthcare industry underwent more significant changes in 2021,” including “skyrocketing” healthcare costs, staff shortages, the rise of telehealth and “transformative changes to many work environments.”
“We are honored to be named to this prestigious list, especially during a year with historic healthcare challenges, as well as tremendous opportunities for innovation,” said Charlie Mills. “From the onset of COVID-19, Medline employees worked around-the-clock to meet the surging and evolving supply chain needs of our healthcare partners. Certainly, this recognition is a reflection of their outstanding efforts.”

Over the past two years, Medline efforts were aided by an ongoing, multibillion dollar investment in new and expanded distribution and manufacturing facilities, and information technology.
