Loras Welcomes Sarah Chayes as Ahlgren International Affairs Lecturer

Loras College will host Sarah Chayes as the Ahlgren International Affairs lecturer on Tuesday, September 27 at 7 p.m. in the Alumni Campus Center.

Chayes will give her presentation entitled “How Corruption Fuels Crisis – Abroad and at Home,” exploring the patterns and practices in countries she has examined across five continents. 

Chayes is a specialist in international corruption and its implications. She is former Paris correspondent for National Public Radio, which she left to work in Afghanistan for a decade, including serving on the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. She is the author, most recently, of On Corruption in America – And What Is at Stake.

The Ahlgren International Affairs Lecture is an annual lecture at Loras College highlighting the importance of global engagement.
