IMPA Recognizes Loras Students with Four Awards

Four Loras College student media pieces received honors from the Iowa Motion Picture Awards (IMPA) this past weekend in Ottumwa, IA.  Two student pieces won awards in professional categories and two in the undergraduate student category.

Hope Ehling (’22) earned the Award of Excellence for her web series, Creator’s Corner, while Nate Kaiser (’22) and Morgan Minear (’21) took home the Award of Achievement for their music video, Heaven’s Ranch.

For the undergraduate awards, the Award of Excellence in student productions went to Matt Williams (’23) and Juan Luna (’23) for their documentary El Principle Azul. Chase Guerdet (’21), Randy Guerdet (’21), Andrew Kilburg (’21) and Austin Ellis (’21) earned the Awards of Achievement in student production for their short film, Penny Road.

The IMPA works directly with the Iowa Film Office to provide information on opportunities, events and issues affecting the production industry, helps to create the best conditions for production in Iowa, and ensures the prosperity of the industry.
