According to the CDC COVID Data Tracker, Delaware County is now in the “high” community level range. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise throughout the United States and our county, it’s important to take the necessary steps to protect yourself and others.
Get back to the basics. Wash your hands, cover your cough, stay home when you are sick, and stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations. Those 6 months of age and older are eligible, so contact your healthcare provider to see about getting your COVID-19 vaccine or boost dose. As time goes on, vaccinations decrease in protection which makes getting your booster dose very important.
Take the actions recommended based on the current community level. Wear a mask indoors in public and on public transportation. Stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines. Get tested if you have symptoms. If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider taking additional precautions.
“Unfortunately, COVID-19 is circulating at high levels in our communities. We have not seen high community levels in months. This is a change for Delaware County. If you begin to show symptoms please get tested and follow the necessary guidelines. We urge everyone to not take these health precautions lightly,” shares Krystle DeShaw, Delaware County Public Health Supervisor.
