Ed-Co Volleyball Donates $12,000 to Local Breast Cancer Patients

The Edgewood-Colesburg (Ed-Co) volleyball team has been one of the biggest supporters of Regional Medical Center’s (RMC) breast cancer patients. This year, the team presented a check of $12,000 to go towards supporting local women who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

Through fundraising events, raffle tickets, and t-shirt sales these young ladies are making a huge difference in the lives of women in their very own community. “On behalf of Regional Medical Center, we can’t thank these young ladies enough. Thank you to everyone who supported their fundraising efforts. It truly says a lot about the community that we live in,” shared Megan Demmer, RMC Radiology Manager.

The money donated will go towards “pink support bags” that are put together by the RMC Radiology staff. These bags are filled with comfort items, gas and gift cards, and words of encouragement for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. In addition, these donated funds support our annual Women’s Night event held in May to support, educate, and pamper our local women.

“As an Edgewood community member and part of the RMC Radiology team, it’s humbling to see the communities and young ladies coming together to support these patients who are fighting their biggest fight,” shared Jody Kerns, RMC Radiologic Technologist.
