City of Dubuque to Open Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The City of Dubuque Housing and Community Development Department will open the waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program to all residents on Tuesday, July 12, from 12 a.m. CST until 11:59 p.m. CST.

In addition to Housing Choice Vouchers, the City also has designated rental assistance vouchers available for non-elderly persons with disabilities and their families.

Applications will be available online at www.cityofdubuque.org/housing and at the Housing and Community Development Department, 350 W. 6th St., Suite 312, Dubuque, IA 52001.They are also available upon request by calling 563-589-4230 or by e-mailing housing@cityofdubuque.org.

To apply for the waiting list, applicants will need: names (as they appear on social security cards), social security numbers, and dates of birth for all household members. Only one application is permitted per household.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program provides rental assistance for income-eligible households. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sets income limits that determine eligibility for assisted housing programs, including the Housing Choice Voucher program.
